Q. Is Zydeco available for private events and if so, how much does it cost?

A. Yes, Zydeco hosts private events on a weekly basis. We can accommodate up to 600 people. Private events range from band showcases to company and Greek Organizations. Prices vary based on availability, estimated number of attending party, day of the week, and other factors. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Q. How can I book my band at Zydeco?

A. Zydeco proudly hosts all types of music including local musicians. The best way to inquire about booking is via email. Please be prepared to provide a band photo, band bio, and samples of music. Q. What is the parking situation at Zydeco?

A. There is free parking in front of the venue, a three story parking garage across the street, and a lot at the back of the venue.

Q. What is the age limit to attend a concert?

A. The age limit varies depending on the specific show. Check our calendar on the event listing for specific age limitations to each show. Majority of our events are 18 and older.

Q. What is considered an acceptable form of I.D. to gain admittance into Zydeco?

A. Any identification issued by the state or federal government that has both a picture and date of birth is required. This can be a drivers license, non-drivers license, military I.D., or passport. Examples of identification that are NOT acceptable will be a birth certificate, buss pas, student I.D. etc.

Q. What do I do if I forgot to close my tab?

A. No worries, tabs left over night can be picked up the next business day after 5pm at the downstairs bar. An automatic 20% gratuity will be added to the total.

Q. Is smoking allowed at Zydeco?

A. Smoking is permitted on our spacious patio. We provide outdoor heaters during the cold months.

Q. Is seating provided for shows?

A. Shows that take place in our upstairs music hall are all general admission. This means the show is “standing room only.” There are a limited amount of tables and chairs in our downstairs bar. Seating is a fist come/first serve basis for the downstairs bar.

Q. Are there any hotels near the venue?

A. Yes, there are several within a 6 block radius of the venue. Here is one we highly recommend. Tell them we sent you and get a discount:

Q. Does Zydeco serve food?

A. Yes, Zydeco serves food. We serve authentic Cajun food that is made fresh daily and never frozen. We also have burgers, wings, chicken fingers etc. for those that do not like the Cajun stuff. Click on the menu link on the homepage for kitchen hours and food options.

Q. Can I bring food in to Zydeco?

A. No, any food or drink broughtin to the venue will immediately be thrown away.

Q. Can I bring my pet in to Zydeco?

A. We are huge animal lovers here at Zydeco. Unfortunately, the city gov’t will not allow us to let your pet come in and hang with us. Sorry…

Q. What does “Zydeco” mean?

A. The word "zydeco" has two different stories to explain it. One is that it comes from the phrase "Les haricots sont pas sales", meaning "the snap beans aren't salty". This phrase is a colloquial expression meaning that times are hard, and when spoken in the regional French, it's pronounced "zy-dee-co.

The second often-accepted meaning of the word "zydeco" is that it comes from the word "zari", which means dance. The word "zari" is found in several West African languages (in various similar forms).

Q. Why does the top of my credit card receipt say “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” when I do business there?

A. Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler is French for, “Let the Good Times Roll.” It is the name of the corporation that owns Zydeco.

Q. Is Zydeco haunted?

A. Zydeco is a very old and unique building. Many employees have claimed to have experienced “strange occurrences” over the years. That being said, if you see a ghost when you are here please let us know.
